This is how it works
The upper part of the bowl of your chemical toilet is replaced by the Arwinger CassetteSeparationToiletKit seat part with separation function. The conversion can be done by yourself without specialist knowledge using the supplied instructions. The seat part ensures the separation of solids and liquids.
Both are picked up by the Arwinger CassetteSeparationToiletKit cassette, which is positioned in the service compartment and replaces the Thetford chemical cassette one-to-one. The solids fall into the cassette’s open container, which is fitted with a bag, and the liquid is fed into the cassette’s tank via the hose.
For emptying, both cassette parts can be separated. The tank for the solids has a volume of approx. 9 litres, the one for the liquid approx. 7.7 litres. The fill level of the liquid tank can be read with the help of an optical fill level indicator.
After the bowl conversion, the chemical toilet seat and lid are fixed to the new seat part and your Thetford toilet looks as good as before. You have made a separation toilet out of your chemical toilet without any damage to the fixtures or the sealing of your bathroom.

The conversion is that simple
Loosen the screw connection of the bowl through the service flap, pull off the pump and hose
Take off the complete bowl with toilet seat and lid
Press with a screwdriver under the fastening clips of the bowl to loosen them
Take off the bowl
Place the Arwinger CassetteSeparationToilet seat part on the bowl
Press the seat part firmly onto the bowl until the fastening clips click into places
Screw the bowl back on through the service flap
Pull off the toilet seat and lid of the chemical toilet and clip them to the seat part, then fasten the hose through the service flap
Market launch of the Arwinger CassetteSeparationToiletKits
As the demand is so extremely high, we have decided to go to market step by step in order to be able to serve the first customers quickly.
We started with the seat part with separation function for the Thetford C250/C260 Series Plastic Bowl in April 2022. Subsequently, the seat part with separating function for the Thetford C220 Series and the complete conversion sets consisting of seat part and cassette for the Thetford C220 and C250/C260 Series Plastic Bowl were launched.
The CassetteSeparationToiletKit for the Thetford C200 was made available at the beginning of 2023. To be able to convert the model, customers need to replace the bowl including seat and lid of their toilet with the bowl of the younger Thetford C220 model included in the kit. This is then converted with the corresponding seat part.
In January 2024, we presented the prototype for the Arwinger CassetteSeparationToilet for the Thetford C400 and C500 Series. In the case of Thetford bench toilets, we offer a complete toilet model that can be exchanged for the installed toilet. It is available since the beginning of April.
A conversion kit for Dometic 4110 is still under development.

We presented the new generation of the Arwinger separation cassette at the Caravan Salon. We have optimised the liquid tank of the cassette in certain ways. For example, the compressed air hose connection has been replaced by a quick-lock, making it much more convenient to connect and disconnect the urine hose. By changing the position of the connection, we have gained space at the top, which simplifies handling of the hose further. And the revised handle allows the cassette to be transported and emptied even more comfortably.
We are offering our customers with the Arwinger generation 2 separation cassette a cost-effective replacement of their liquid tank as part of a buyback promotion. You buy the new tank for €250.00, return the old tank to us and receive a €100.00 refund. We will take care of the professional disposal of your tank.

Replacement
The new Arwinger CassetteSeparationToilet for the Thetford C400 Series and the C500 Series also allows campers with a bench toilet in their vehicle to make a smart switch to a separation toilet – while retaining the bathroom design and the comfort they are used to.
As the inlay of the bench toilet cannot be removed, the entire toilet is replaced in this case. We have developed a body with corresponding dimensions into which the seat part with separation function is inserted. This replaces your Thetford bench toilet one-to-one. Of course, the toilet is still supplied from the outside through the service flap.
The body of the bench model can be adapted to different individual installation situations. The replacement should be carried out by one of our installation partners or by us in Hamburg Langenhorn.

Frequently asked questions
For which chemical toilet models are Arwinger CassetteSeparationToiletKit available?
So far, conversion sets are available for the Thetford C250/C260 Plastic Bowl, C220 and C200 series. It is also possible to convert the Thetford C260 Ceramic Bowl series. However, this requires the ceramic bowl to be replaced with a plastic bowl.
The Arwinger CassetteSeparationToilet for the Thetford C400 and C500 Series bench toilets is on the market since the beginning of April 2024.
A conversion kit for the Dometic 4110 is currently under development. We are not yet able to provide a specific date for the market launch.
Can the containers be emptied separately?
The cassette consists of separate containers for liquid and solid, which are connected with a tension belt. Both are conveniently removed through the service flap and can be separated for emptying.
What is the volume of the tanks?
The solids container has a volume of approx. 9 litres, the liquid tank approx. 7.7 litres.
How is the solids container emptied and kept clean?
A bag is hung in the solids container, which is completely removed for emptying. This prevents soiling of the container. We recommend using a bag made of recycled material or a standard 25-litre bin liner.
What kind of litter is used?
Any material that is suitable for binding moisture can be used as bedding. Small animal litter, sawdust, miscanthus, completely dried coffee grounds or special separation toilet litter have proven to be effective.
How is the cassette separating toilet cleaned?
We recommend cleaning the seat section regularly with a little vinegar water (mixing ratio 1:1) or citric acid water (3 tablespoons of citric acid to 1 liter of water). After a longer period of intensive use, the hose and the liquid tank can be rinsed with vinegar or citric acid water.
Do the tanks have lids?
The liquid tank is completely closed; the liquid is only fed in through a small opening and emptied through a closable spout. The solids container is not closed with a lid. Since only the bag is removed for emptying, i.e. the container does not have to be transported, a lid is not necessary here. In addition, the drying of the solids is supported by the fact that the container is open at the top.
Due to the demand for a screen for the solids container, we offer an optional solids cover. It is inserted into the solids outlet when the toilet is not in use. Before using the toilet, it is removed and placed in the holder provided.
How do I determine the fill level of the liquid tank?
The level of the liquid tank is read by means of an optical level indicator on the cassette. From the first quarter of 2024, there will be an electric level indicator that can be purchased as an option.
Is ventilation planned?
Basically, a dry separation toilet hardly produces any odours. Odours are only created by the combination of solids and liquids, which does not take place here. And of course there are no chemical odours either. However, you can continue to use your existing ventilation and/or your ventilator in the service flap. If a ventilation is wanted, we recommend the SOG TT.
Will there be an agitator for the solids container?
The Arwinger CassetteSeparationToilet does not work according to the concept of mixing the solids and therefore has no agitator.
Can I convert my toilet myself?
In principle, the conversion can be carried out by the customer themselves. Only a little manual skill is required. However, we also offer installation in our hall in Hamburg Langenhorn, for which we charge €150.00. Otherwise, we have a number of trained installation partners in Germany and neighboring countries that you can contact. Is a conversion possible without damaging the chemical toilet?
Our original conversion concept envisaged sawing off the bracket for the closer of the original toilet. Since the wish was expressed to be able to completely dismantle the toilet, we have developed a solution here: A silicone sleeve on the lower edge of the seat section provides a flexible extension that goes over the closer bracket. It is therefore not necessary to remove it.
Does the rotatability of the toilet seat remain?
Yes, the seat can still be turned after the conversion.
Can I also use the conversion set without the cassette?
We also offer to order the seat part with separating function individually, i.e. without the cassette. If you choose not to use the cassette, you can collect the solids with a bucket and direct the liquid via the supplied hose into a canister or an underground tank.
